its my first notebook, outstanding performance (opening IE, the overall speed of programs loading, speed internet, functionality), I use it more than my desktop. HP is the way to go, I would never buy anything, but at this point, Windows XP is what is top on my desk (it's a dinosaur, than Windows 7), I can not up grade on my Windows 7 desk...

HP Pavilion ZV6000 Notebook Computer Review

The ZV6000 is a cost effective alternative for those for solid performance and value. The ZV6000 offers an AMD-64 processor with 512 KB of RAM, which in combination provide a lot of computing power to surf the Web or perform a variety of programs.

In fact, we could hear how to download movies, music, and run our photo-editing software without a glitch. We love the 15.4-inch widescreen display, which is only available in standard contrast rather than HP's BrightviewTechnology, but our testers hardly noticed a difference using our applications. The ZV6000 comes loaded with Windows XP Pro, a 40GB hard drive and 8x DVD-RW drive.
